Heat Embossing Experiment

Hi All,
I have been stamping for 20+ years and heat embossing just as long.  I never gave it a thought that embossing powders would look different on different colored papers.  I read on another blog the other day how embossing powders look different on Black card stock versus traditional white card stock.  Well I had to experiment, and that lead to totally changing how I set up my swatch referral book.  A tutorial on my swatch book can be found on the Stamping Scrapping Tutorial ning website.  Below are 2 exact card.  One is embossed on white card stock.  The second one is embossed on black card stock.

It is hard to see in the pictures but the Tea Garden Green Embossing powder looks much darker on the black card stock.  Hope this gives you ideas to explore your embossing powders.

No Two Pinecones Are Ever The Same

Fall brings the drop in temperature, color changing leaves, pinecones start to drop and become decorative settings in homes.  I decided that I needed to learn how to use the Tim Holtz Pinecone Die I purchased last year from Stampingscrapping.com.  Therefore, this year I learned how to use the die and you can find the tutorial on the Stamping Scrapping Technique and Tutorial website.  I am hoping next year to be able to make a paper pinecone wreath for a table decoration.  Please enjoy this year’s fall project.  I made this card to hand out for Thanksgiving.

I made these tags for a tag swap I was involved in.

I made this card in a TAC class I took a while back.  The flowers are colored with Pebbles shimmer chalk using a dove blender pen.

Card for a friend.

I made this card several years ago for a dear friend of mine.
